Windcat and Ørsted have signed an offshore vessel fleet contract

Windcat and Ørsted have signed a contract to supply crew transfer vessel services in Grimsby, supporting Ørsted’s offshore wind operations.

This forms part of Ørsted’s Generation UK Hub, the UK’s largest operations and maintenance facility, supporting six offshore wind farms from Grimsby Royal Dock.

Mark Hickson, head of Nearshore, Generation UK at Ørsted, said: “We’re pleased to extend our partnership with these seven vessels. This extension reinforces our commitment to safe, efficient operations and to delivering clean energy to communities across the UK.”

Ørsted already operates seven vessels across its UK projects, this agreement expands this by using the entire Windcat fleet, reflecting confidence in the company’s operational performance, safety standards and service delivery.

Willem van der Wel, managing director at Windcat, said: “With four 12-seater vessels and three high-performance 24-seater vessels, they have a versatile fleet that ensures high accessibility and flexibility.”

The contract officially commenced in June and is expected to run for five years, with an option to extend the agreement.
