The Offshore
Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) has allocated £2.4 million to nine companies
in the UK supply chain, with the aim of boosting their capabilities and
expanding the industry's capacity.
This financial
support, offered through the OWGP’s Development Funding initiative, backs
projects that correspond with the priorities outlined in the Industrial
Growth Plan to tackle significant areas of supply chain enhancement.
The applications
that received funding encompass a wide variety of growth sectors, such
as electrical systems and cables, foundational and substructural work,
intelligent environmental assessments and installations, along with operations
and maintenance.
These proposals
were subjected to a "comprehensive" review process, with emphasis
placed on submissions that presented near-market solutions, demonstrated
customer engagement and interest, and had a clear and credible aspiration
for growth in the industry.
The companies
chosen include Airspection Limited, BPP Cables, Fennex, HydroSurv Unmanned
Survey, Innovair, Kinewell Energy, MJR Controls, SeaThor and Slipform Engineering.
Lynne McIntosh-Grieve,
head of programme delivery at OWGP, said: "It's wonderful to announce
the companies selected through our latest programme, which will support
a diverse portfolio of projects from UK supply chain companies set to strengthen
the sector’s ability to deliver offshore wind at scale.
"The record
number of high-quality applications we received in this funding round demonstrates
the ambition and readiness of companies to meet the growing demand in the
UK offshore wind market.
"We are proud
to support these nine projects, which will accelerate near-to-market solutions,
build capacity and deliver lasting benefits for the sector and the economy."
