The refurbished Flintstone prepares for Dogger Bank operations

Following refurbishment, the fall pipe vessel (FPV) Flintstone is now ready for operations.

The DEME vessel will supply, transport, and install scour protection at multiple locations on the Dogger Bank Wind Farm. At 154.6 m long and with a loading capacity of 20,000 tonnes, Flintstone is purpose-built to carry out subsea rock installation in water depths of up to 2,000 m.

According to the Notice to Mariners, operations will start on July 23, with the vessel expected to complete its scope of work on August 10.

Mariners have been advised to maintain a distance of 500 m from Flintstone and pass at a reduced speed to ensure safety. Additionally, the rock installation vessel will be restricted in its ability to manoeuvre, as defined under the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972.
