Productivity East schedules 4th Research & Innovation seminar

On 17th November at 4pm Productivity East will be hosting the 4th event in it’s Research & Innovation (R&I) online seminar series. We’re very excited to announce that Professor Alan Norbury, Chief Technologist for Siemens Plc will present ‘Recent challenges and innovations linked to Industry 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing’’. Prof Gerard Parr, Head of School of Computing Science at UEA will provide the introduction to Professor Norbury and the seminar. We’re delighted that this seminar is being delivered in conjunction with Tech East.
This is a great opportunity for industry insight from a leader in their field. Professor Norbury, Chief Technologist for Siemens plc Digital Industries division, is a regular Industry 4.0 keynote speaker. Since 2011 Alan has worked closely with the High Value Manufacturing Catapult Centres. He dedicates his time to developing leading technology innovation to benefit Siemens UK manufacturing facilities and Siemens industrial customers.
Digitalisation is changing all areas of our lives: The way we stay informed, the way we travel, the way we buy things – and the way we manufacture products. The pace of innovation and the ability to disrupt are becoming key success factors in global competition.
This new ‘Digital Revolution’ commonly referred to as ‘The 4th Industrial Revolution’ is driven by ‘embedded’ or ‘cyber physical’ systems interacting intelligently. Join this seminar to find out what this means for UK productivity and growth. How technologies will change the way we do business and what skills are required.
The event on 17th November, on this fascinating and highly topical subject, is part of a series of events covering key topics, themes and concepts delivered by expert academic groups and specialist industry leaders.
The seminar will be held on-line and places can be booked via Eventbrite here or the following link:
