PALFINGER has secured a contract with Smulders to supply 64 PT 160-5m davit
cranes for the East
Anglia TWO offshore wind farm.
Operated by ScottishPower Renewables, the wind farm is located off the
coast of Suffolk and will have an installed capacity of 960 MW once completed,
enough to power the equivalent of around 1 million homes.
Under the agreement, PALFINGER will provide one PT 160-5m davit crane for
each of the project's 64 wind turbines, with delivery scheduled for completion
by the end of 2026. In addition to supplying the cranes, PALFINGER's equipment
will support material handling, maintenance, and service operations throughout
the wind farm's lifecycle.
Iavor Markov, Global Key Account & Segment Manager Offshore Wind at
PALFINGER, said: “We support customers in operating offshore wind farms
safely and efficiently over their entire lifecycle. East Anglia TWO is
a major renewable energy project, and we are proud to contribute our expertise
once again.”
The contract further strengthens PALFINGER's relationship with Smulders,
following the companies previous collaboration on the East Anglia THREE
offshore wind project.
