The Dutch government has increased financial support for two offshore wind sites at IJmuiden Ver to secure developer interest in delivering 2 GW of capacity in the North Sea.

The
IJmuiden Ver Gamma-A and Gamma-B plots will be offered through a subsidy tender in November and are expected to enter operation in 2032. The maximum tender cap for Gamma-A has been raised from EUR 104/MWh to EUR 117/MWh, while Gamma-B will increase from EUR 103/MWh to EUR 116/MWh. The total budget allocation is around EUR 6.2 billion, with final expenditure depending on electricity prices and the winning bids.

The increase reflects uncertainty around a proposed feed in tariff and aims to provide developers with greater certainty. Market consultations indicate sufficient interest in both tenders, with competition expected to drive bid prices lower.

The projects form part of the
Netherlands offshore wind rollout strategy. Tenders will open on 26 November and close on 10 December, with permits expected to be awarded in the first quarter of 2027.
