Llŷr offshore wind farm is awaiting the next stage of the consenting process

Llŷr Offshore Wind Farm has called on the Welsh Government to make a decision on the next stage of its consenting process.

This comes after the wind farm recently secured marine licenses from Natural Resources Wales and is now awaiting consent under Section 36 from the Welsh Government. A final decision is expected by July 20.

The Llŷr offshore wind farms aim to generate 200 MW of renewable energy once complete, providing enough power for approximately 200,000 homes in the U.K.

The projects will serve as a hub for floating offshore wind innovation by testing different foundation and mooring technologies. This real-world testing will help reduce risk for future projects, making it a significant development in the industry.
