Liebherr are preparing to supply six RL 2600 ram luffing cranes for TenneT’s 2 GW offshore wind transmission systems in the
Netherlands. The cranes have been ordered by Seatrium Ltd and will be installed on offshore converter platforms.

The cranes will be deployed across the
IJmuiden Ver Beta, IJmuiden Ver Gamma and Nederwiek Beta platforms, with two units on each site. The delivery is planned in stages ahead of operations scheduled for 2029.

Designed for offshore conditions, the RL 2600 features a compact form suited to space-constrained platforms. Each crane offers a maximum outreach of 45 metres and a lifting capacity of up to 25 tonnes to support maintenance and logistics activities.

The cranes will be equipped with Liebherr’s LiMain system, enabling remote and partly automated maintenance on unmanned platforms. Selected service tasks can be carried out fromshore, reducing the need for offshore intervention and supporting advancing grid development.
