Inch Cape completes installation of second export cable
The
Inch Cape offshore wind project
has completed installation of its second export cable, marking another
key milestone in construction.
Working from the Port of Blyth, Enshore Subsea's CMOS
Installer vessel
laid three 28-kilometre cable sections that will form the project's second
export connection between the offshore and onshore substations.
The installation campaign included cable pull-in operations at both substations
and was delivered with support from a number of contractors, including
Orient Cable, Harlyn, Charles Brand and Siemens Energy.
The work builds on last year's successful export cable installation campaign
and represents further progress towards completion of the wind farm's transmission
infrastructure.
The Inch Cape offshore wind farm is being developed in the North Sea off
the Angus coast and is expected to become one of Scotland's largest renewable
energy projects once operational.
