Humber Marine and Renewables (HM&R) and Norwegian Offshore Wind (NOW) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on offshore wind and supply chain development at Global Offshore Wind.

The organisations said the agreement aims to support both regions in scaling up activity, creating jobs and increasing investment in the sector, while strengthening cooperation between the Humber and Norway.

Tor Arne Johnsen, business development manager at NOW, said the Humber offers “gigawatt-scale operational capacity, a multi-GW project pipeline, and strong offshore wind supply chains”, adding that the MoU provides a platform for further cooperation.

The agreement includes plans for visits to events such as Offshore Wind Connections and Floating Wind Days, as well as joint boostcamps and supply chain events in both regions.

NOW represents 300 members across the offshore wind value chain, including more than 80 companies in its UK working group. While HM&R was formed in 2022, also represents more than 80 members in the Humber region.
