Wind Farm has recently submitted it's Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
scoping report, marking a key milestone in the project's development.
If approved, the wind farm could generate up to 1.5 GW of renewable energy,
representing a key opportunity for Wales to strengthen its offshore wind
capabilities.
The application will secure the project's progression through the Development
Consent Order (DCO) process. Public consultation events are expected to
begin in autumn 2026, after which Gwynt Glas will seek the marine licences
required to advance the project.
Gwynt Glas Project Director Mark Hazelton said the milestone "underscores
our commitment to delivering a world-class project that will provide energy
security, create jobs and strengthen the UK's position as a global leader
in offshore wind."
The wind farm aims to support local communities while minimising its environmental
impact, with the goal of delivering clean, domestically generated energy.
