A new analysis by TGS 4C and Menon Economics has found European offshore wind supports around 180,000 full-time jobs and EUR 26 billion in gross value added in 2025, with impacts extending across an integrated European supply chain.

Around 55,000 jobs were linked directly to offshore wind projects, while a further 125,000 were supported indirectly. Direct roles include turbine manufacturing, foundation supply, cable production, installation vessels, engineering and offshore construction.

Development and construction accounted for the majority of employment, supporting around 155,000 jobs, mainly in fabrication, installation, engineering and maritime supply. With operations and maintenance contributing around 25,000 roles.

While construction generated EUR 16 billion, operations delivered EUR 10 billion in ongoing value, largely driven by power production.  The main activities where centred in Northern and Western European markets, particularly
Germany, the UK, Denmark, Spain and the Netherlands.
