DeepOcean has completed the installation and testing of all inter-array
cables at the Nordseecluster
A offshore
wind farm in Germany.
The company installed 48 inter-array cables linking turbines and offshore
infrastructure, with cable-laying operations taking place between January
and April 2026. Additionally, termination and testing activities have now
been completed.
The installation campaign involved four vessels, including the subsea construction
vessels
Olympic Ares
and M/S Volantis. DeepOcean also carried out seabed surveys and burial
operations as part of the project.
Nordseecluster A is the first phase of the wider 1.6GW Nordseecluster development
being built by RWE and Norges Bank Investment Management. The project will
comprise 44 Vestas V236-15MW turbines and deliver 660MW of installed capacity
when commissioned in early 2027.
Completion of the inter-array cable works marks another key construction
milestone as the project progresses towards first power.
