Creating the Visible Engineer – Work starts on the Institute of Productivity

UEA

Ongoing work has continued in the last month regarding planning aspects of the Institute of Productivity building. There is a considerable amount of preparation required to ensure the new facilities meet the requirements set out in the vision particularly in terms of the complexities of repurposing existing listed building facilities to provide the innovative and flexible work spaces proposed in the successful bid.
Planning permission has now been submitted to NCC and phase 1 enabling work is currently out to tender.
The project has created a significant amount of interest and engagement opportunities continue to be explored. Delivery in collaboration with our stakeholders is a the heart of planning for this exciting new regional hub in order to explore ideas, collaborate to meet industry challenges and provide the talent base to meet the needs of the evolving local landscape.
An external board has now been identified to advise and enable the IoP objectives. The first meeting will be held in January and meet quarterly around the region.
FBM Architects have added an interesting article about the IoP build on their website covering the regeneration of this area of the UEA campus and including some new imagery. To explore this article please visit:
