Nova Scotia has completed the prequalification process for companies seeking to develop offshore wind projects in the upcoming offshore wind leasing round.

The Canada Nova Scotia Offshore Energy Regulator (CNSOER) opened the 90 day prequalification period on October 16, 2025, and closed applications on January 13, 2026. Officials have now reviewed all submissions and notified applicants of their results.

Only companies that successfully completed the prequalification process will be eligible to participate in the next offshore wind call for bids.

Several companies agreed to make their prequalification status public. They include DEME Concessions Wind N.V, Northland Power Inc, Jan De Nul nv, Ming Yang Smart Energy Group Limited, Renewable Energy Systems Holdings Limited, and Simply Blue Energy (OSW) Ltd.

The regulator noted that additional prequalified companies may exist but chose not to disclose their status publicly.
