Cadeler has had a key milestone in its newbuilding programme with the successful keel laying of Wind Apex at the COSCO Shipping Offshore shipyard in Qidong, China.

The ceremony marks the completion of the vessel's first hull block and the start of hull assembly.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2027, upon completion Wind Apex will be the twelfth vessel in Cadeler's fleet and part of its next generation A-class series, which aims to support the increasing scale of offshore wind projects.

Wind Apex will be capable of transporting and installing some of the world's largest monopile foundations and wind turbines due to its payload capacity of over 17,000 tons.

The milestone reflects the collaboration between Cadeler's site team, the COSCO shipyard, DNV, equipment suppliers and the skilled shipyard workforce supporting the project.
